Who We Are

We’re designers, artists, and makers.
We bring a background and experience in product design, product marketing, product management, mechanical design, and electronic design, and even art, to help you create your product–to bring your idea to reality.

Robot is Scott Shwarts. Scott has an insatiable desire to deliver the product vision, technology, and product management needed to build, launch, and deliver successful products Scott started his career as an electronics engineer working for companies such as National Semiconductor. Later he founded one of the early Macintosh software companies. Symmetry Corporation. After selling the company, he consulted with a number of companies including Apple Computer, AT&T, HP, and Symantec. He’s had many different experiences since then from various tech start-ups to being part of the management team of an America’s Cup team. He always comes back to his first love, building cool products. Scott has a number of patents (many of which are assigned to Apple Computer).

Scott is also a senior advisor to Knectiv, a contract manufacturing company, and an advisor to the Start100 investment fund based in Western North Carolina.

Our technical team consists of mechanical engineers, industrial designers, electronics engineers, firmware development, and even mobile app/backend development. We also have resources we can draw upon for just about all aspects of building a product company from IP Lawyers to technical writing and UX design.

Robot & Girl is not just about technology. We help develop products that people really want to own and use. The Girl in Robot & Girl (also known as Anita Shwarts) is an artist specializing in creating art out of wood and fine art drawing. In addition, we’ll often combine her work with technology to create unique pieces utilizing laser cutting/engraving and milling. Her work has been shown in the area and is sought after by collectors. Girl offers a unique perspective on our technology projects often reminding us that humans have to use what we create. Anita’s work can be found on display and available for purchase at Kress Gallery in Asheville.
